Three miles South of Gwyndy Mawr is the historic town of Harlech with its famous 13th century castle.

The town has excellent restaurants, and cafes with magnificent views across Cardigan Bay. Amongst its facilities are an indoor swimming pool, Royal St David's Golf Club, a famous 18 hole links course, plus the beautifully situated Theatre Ardudwy.

Footpaths from the site take you into the countryside or along the estuary where you will experience the drama and beauty of the magnificent landscape of Southern Snowdonia.

On the estuary beach, as well as bird watching you overlook Portmeirion (the Italianate Village setting for " The Prisoner"). Within easy reach of Gwyndy Mawr is the Ffestiniog Railway, the slate mines at Blaenau Ffestiniog and many other scenic walks, or for an 'activity holiday' there is riding, fishing, quad biking, dry skiing or just lazing on a beautiful beach. Its all here, come and see for yourselves.
